Final Post

One theme that was showed throughout the whole book is Fear. Fear was one major theme in the novel because she lived in fear of getting caught while she was hiding, feared what was happening outside of The Secret Annex, not knowing when she’s going back home and back to living her life, etc. I liked this book because it was interesting hearing about someone going through the Holocaust and what they did to cope with their experience. The book was good although  I thought it would end a little differently.

Overall I liked the project. It was interesting to see what other people’s opinions were.   From reading the book I learned that the Holocaust had different effects on people and others coped differently with the whole situation. From doing the blogging project I learned that other people have different opinions and I learned to be open minded. I  think that teenagers should be a part of this because it teaches you about history around the world. Also that fact that teenagers are going to be the ones that influence our generation can know what's right and wrong, and know what the consequences of some things may be. Things like the Holocaust can happen again if people let the wrong things happen and don’t stop them. Another reason teenagers should be a part of this is because it teaches you how to not be a bystander, but an upstander because if you don’t stand up for what’s right and wrong then things can happen.

  1. I agree that the theme is fear because Anne Franks life was scary. She tried living in a Secret Annex without being allowed to leave because they feared getting caught by the Jews. They also had fear because Anne Frank didn't know what was going on outside and if she would make it home. They feared getting caught because they don't want to be to be separated from their family and they don't want to be tortured by the Jews. They were not allowed to make noise or they would get caught and have to go to a concentration camps.

  3. I like the theme that you chose. I think the whole book is based on fear, everyday Anne's fears of getting caught. She doesn't know what life has in-store for her. Fear plays a big role in our lives. I think fear is what causes us to do what we do each and every day. Sometimes people don't do what they want because fear get in there way, Fear of failing. Anne didn't only live in fear of getting caught, but she also lived in fear of loosing her family. Anne does lose her family. I think losing your family is one of the worst things that can happen. In my opinion family is everything. Anne loses the one thing she cares about the most. Anne also feared that things would never get any better. Things do get better, but Anne isn't there to see it anymore. The diary of Anne Frank taught us many things, from the power of family to the power of love. Some people found the love in their heart to help The Franks. They risked their own lives to make sure they were okay. They also lived in fear, If they got caught hiding Jews they could get killed. The Diary of Anne frank is a very good book, and i think everyone could learn alot from it.

  4. I agree that the main theme is fear because fear ruled Anne Franks life, Anne Frank would wake up everyday in the Secret Annex and was forced to be quiet, she also wasn't allowed to leave. She was scared of getting caught by the Jews. She was also in fear because she was scared of being a captive in the concentration camp. Her life was basically still ruled by the Jews even though she wasn't a captive. Anne Frank wasn't allowed to go out and make friends and live her life like a normal child would, which would be a very frustrating life.
